Gerina Stevenson is the daughter of Mexican parentage Rita Stevenson (mother) and Alan Stevenson (father). The mother of two is a Mexican by blood however she has an American citizenship. Gerina has always been a sports enthusiast. Gerina took up golf when she turned 15 years old. Gerina has graduated from Goddard High School. While she was in the high school level, she was able to win her first prize in the New Mexico state golf tournament. As a volleyball player, she was also a participant in state tournaments. She attended Texas's University of Texas, Texas, for the 2003 academic year. In the final period of her career she had won every tournament where she played. In her college career, she was awarded Conference USA individual champion player of the year, and was named UTEP Female Athlete Of The Year.
