In the seventh grade, April began taking guitar and piano classes. It sparked her interest in writing songs. At the age of 14, April was devoted for a long period of time to making song lyrics and working on her musical skills. The songwriting began with her dad and her dad in NY and LA shortly after. April also began to include additional topics that were related to of her friends dealing with issues such as bullying by peers and teen suicide in the song"Take my Hand. Lockhart, a popular lifestyle influencer, as well as being a partner with clean beauty brands Ilia and YSL, has cultivated her own fan base. She was not born with a left-hand, which is why she's who she is. However, that's not the full story. Lockhart doesn't deny her disability in her posts on Instagram, however she doesn't make it the focus of the post. The message? We are all more than just our physical self. Our identities are complicated and we contain many different elements. I do not want this to define me I don't wish to become a disability influencer in which I only discuss because there are other elements to my life. Lockhart speaks via video from her home in Nashville. The issue doesn't affect my everyday activities. I carry on the same way as I always do and have come up with my own ways to adapt. It's also part of me and I feel that it's crucial to speak about. Lockhart has served as an excellent source of inspiration for her female friends with regards to self-acceptance. Still, she admits that she went through phases in her life with her physique, feeling uncomfortable in certain situations wearing outfits that showcased her arms. The woman now puts on whatever clothes she likes and uploads photos on her Facebook page with pride. The self-love she talks about is a process. It's hard to say if you'll ever reach the final stage. It's a long journey. I'm not sure you'll ever get there. I believe having friends around you who really understand you and can see the depths of your soul is vital since they'll be those that remind you of what are you worried about?
